Chief's Monthly Report 9/21/09
To: Protection Committee Members
From: Steve Olson, Chief of Police
Re: Administrative Report
Labor Day, the Triathlon and the Pig in the Park events passed uneventfully. We will submit for the OT costs of the Triathlon.
We received a free $530.00 PBT (portable alcohol breath tester) from the DOT for our participation in their Click It or Ticket program. This was an item we were thinking we were going to look at purchasing in the near future due to the age of our existing units.
The new squad camera system paid for by the DOT has been ordered. It will not be installed until/if a new squad arrives in 2010 to save on installation costs.
We borrowed the Village of Walworth’s speed trailer and put it by the school during the opening week and on South Lake Shore Drive over the Labor Day weekend. Activity results showed that most traffic was less than 10 mph over.
Our CSO was at the Touch a Truck event in Walworth with our ATV and GEM car. Both were very popular with the kids.
All officers who are intoxilizer certified got re-certified recently. |
